It isn’t real yet

I bought another package of pregnancy tests today just to be sure. I did one on Sunday night, 2 days ago, and was sure that it would be negative. I was truly suprised when it was positive. I stood in the bathroom for 5 minutes just staring at it, not knowing what to do, trying to calm my breathing. I finally decided to tell my husband right then, rather than wait to take another test. These things are generally pretty acurate. And I didn’t want him saying, “Why didn’t you tell me immediately?” I put it in a gift bag and said I had an early birthday present for him.

I’ve been very happy these last 2 days. We haven’t told anyone else yet, and would like to wait a couple more weeks before doing so. We’ll see if we make it that long. I’d at least like to wait until I go to the doctor, hopefully sometime later this week. I’m very excited. The calculated due date is October 8, just a few days before my birthday. Time to start shopping for summertime maternity clothes!
