Oklahoma Sooner redshirt freshman quarterback Sam Bradford has been formally added to the Maxwell Award Watch list. The award is presented each year to the nation’s top football player by Maxwell Football Club of Philadelphia.
Bradford leads the nation in passing efficiency and is on pace to set the NCAA record for touchdown passes by a freshman quarterback (the previous record holder is Texas quarterback Colt McCoy).
Two previous Sooners have won the Maxwell award. Tommy McDonald won the award in 1956 and Jason White won it in 2004.
