Oklahoma alumni Tommie Harris and Roy Williams are headed to Honolulu for the 2006 Pro Bowl. Tommie Harris is going for the first time in his second season and Roy Williams is bowling for the third time in four NFL seasons.

After showing the likes of Samford, Binghampton, Belmont, Coppin State, and Southern what was already painfully clear to everybody else (that OU is much better) Oklahoma will begin to play a more consistently challenging schedule starting Thursday. The Sooners will tip off at 7:30 pm on Thursday against the West Virginia Mountaineers inside the Ford Center as part of the All-College Classic, following the Tennessee-Oklahoma State tilt.

SAN DIEGO – Chuck Long, who has a national championship ring, five top-six finishes in the national polls and 10 appearances in bowl games as products of an impressive 11 seasons as a collegiate assistant coach, has been named the 16th head football coach at San Diego State, athletic director Jeff Schemmel announced Saturday.

A week ago the Oklahoma Sooners received relief in the form of Joey Halzle, a 6-4, 215 pound Quarterback from Huntington Beach, California. This dual-threat player from Golden West Community College who would give the Sooners the freedom to move Paul Thompson to receiver full-time and provide a quality backup to Rhett Bomar was shocked to find out that Chuck Long was leaving Oklahoma. However, the former Chuck Long recruit, Halzle confirmed his commitment to Bob Stoops on Saturday.
